Rise of the Tomb Raider is a third-person action-adventure which was developed by Crystal Dynamics and will be published by Square Enix and Microsoft Studios. Rise of the Tomb Raider is the sequel of the 2013 game Tomb Raider.
Square Enix have announced that the game will be launched November 10, 2015 for Xbox One and Xbox 360, but do not worry, this is a ‘time exclusive’ thing only. This means that the game is set to launched for PC in the ‘Early 2016’ and then for the official release of the game for PS4 will be ’Holiday 2016’. It is suspected the game will be launched around the first quarter of 2016, which is not a long wait from the Xbox release, unfortunately for the PS4 platform it may seem the game will only be available around November next year.
In the Rise of the Tomb Raider, the player takes control of Lara Croaft through various environments, completing puzzles and battling enemies while you are using improvised gadgets and weapons to make your way through the story. The in-game environment includes a weather system which will allow the humans and animal characters to act to the day and night cycles. This game is has undergone an combat redesign which will give the player more stealthy and perform sneaky attacks. The player can use the environment to confuse the enemies, hide in trees and travelling along the roof tops to avoid combat altogether, similar to that of Thief.
The story of the game is that Lara Croft has experienced some supernatural activity on Yamatai, but a organization by the name of Trinity has been covering it all up, and to prove that Lara hasn’t lost her mind, she tries becomes obsessed with find the truth behind the myths around the world to prove she is not insane. Rise of the Tomb Raider follows Jonah Maiava and Lara Croft as they search for the ancient city Kitezh in Siberia, which was built in the 13th century by the Grand prince of Vladimir, which Lara has come to believe that it hold some truth behind immortality.
